Preparing provincial boards for trend talks

A practical checklist for tourism officers who must present seasonal findings to mixed boards with limited meeting time.

Provincial tourism boards often include hoteliers, transport operators, cultural officers, and elected representatives. Each person arrives with a different definition of a “good season.” Your job is to give them one shared picture before debate begins.

Limit opening visuals to three boards: arrivals by month, source-market mix, and a simple map of pressure points. Extra charts belong in an appendix. Boards that start with twelve slides rarely finish the discussion they came for.

Assign one concrete decision to the meeting — for example, whether to extend a shoulder-season shuttle or revise festival timing. Trend talks without a decision request become report readings.

If you need outside facilitation, book a Destination Market Briefing rather than a full study. The shorter format respects limited calendar space while still grounding the room in the same seasonal story.
